The Strategy of the Future

The Board Game Project enables young inventors to understand the relevance of the skills gained from a simple game when applied to society

This experience invites young inventors to create a Board Game, based on several concepts!

The experience sparks children’s curiosity and creativity about the world of games and strategy. It allows them to learn, in a practical and enjoyable way, concepts developed by many pioneers of strategy, encouraging them to explore the world around them with an inventive mindset.

This reflects the mission to inspire future inventors to think ‘outside the box’ and to apply their knowledge in creative and innovative ways

About Inspiring Inventors

Elinor Ostrom

Elinor Ostrom

1933-2012

Was an american political scientist and political economist. In 2009, she was awarded the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences for her “analysis of economic governance, especially the commons”, which she shared with Oliver E. Williamson; she was the first woman to win the prize. Ostrom was involved in resource management policy and created a research center, the Workshop in Political Theory and Policy Analysis, which attracted scientists from different disciplines from around the world. Working and teaching at her center was created on the principle of a workshop, rather than a university with lectures and a strict hierarchy. Ostrom studied the interaction of people and ecosystems for many years and showed that the use of exhaustible resources by groups of people (communities, cooperatives, trusts, trade unions) can be rational and prevent depletion of the resource without either state intervention or markets with private property.

Why This Project?

The Board Game project was created with three main objectives:

  1. Understanding the importance of concepts: In this project, young inventors gain an awareness of the usefulness of concepts such as strategy, healty competition, concentration or imagination
  2. Understanding the impact on society: With the Board Game project, young inventors learn how these concepts are used in real situations, helping to foster a spirit of competition based on respect and adherence to the rules.!
  3. Focusing on creativity and inventiveness: By taking part in this process, young inventors develop skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking and team work. In the end, playing with the Board Game makes the experience even more special.

At the end of the session, young inventors gain a new appreciation for the world of strategy.

Together, we discover how to play by the rules!
