Shedding light on curiosity

The Blinking Lamp project allows young inventors to explore the fascinating world of electricity.

With this project, creativity shines in a whole new way. By building the Blinking Lamp, young inventors ignite the light of imagination and, in the end, create a night light to use in their room.

Through this experience, children have the opportunity to explore electricity-related concepts, discovering how circuits work in a fun and interactive way.

All of this takes place in an inspiring environment, where children’s inventive and creative spirit is highlighted, encouraging teamwork, spontaneity, and curiosity.

About The Inventors

John Bardeen

John Bardeen

1908-1991

John Bardeen was an American physicist and inventor. He is the only person to have been awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics twice: first in 1956, along with William Shockley and Walter Houser Brattain, for the invention of the transistor; and again in 1972, with Leon Cooper and John Robert Schrieffer, for his fundamental theory of superconductivity, known as the BCS theory. The transistor revolutionized the electronics industry, making possible the development of virtually all modern electronic devices, from telephones to computers, ushering in the “Information Age.”

Concepts Covered

Transistor

  • Transistor: It is an electrical component that helps control the flow of electricity in a circuit, either allowing or blocking the passage of electrical energy. For example, when we use a switch to turn a light on or off, we are using a transistor. When we press the button, an electrical signal is sent to the transistor, which then turns the light on or off

Capacitor

  • Capacitor: It is an electrical component whose function is to store electrical energy for a period of time and then release it.For example, when we charge a mobile phone, the charger supplies electrical energy to the capacitor inside the phone, which stores that energy. This allows us to use the phone without being connected to the charger.

Why this Project?

The Blinking Lamp project was created with three main objectives:

  1. Exploring the world of electricity: In this project, young inventors will build a lamp, practically exploring concepts related to capacitors and transistors. This fully hands-on experience aims to provide an interactive way for children to learn about electricity, while using various electronic components in a dynamic and fun learning process!
  2. Understanding the role of these concepts in society: This project helps young inventors realize that capacitors and transistors play a crucial role in everyday activities, such as charging a phone, turning a light on or off, or operating an electric car.
  3. Encouraging Creativity and an Inventive Spirit : By participating in this process, young inventors develop key skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and motor coordination.

At the end of the project, children will have gained a greater understanding of electrical concepts, celebrating their success by building their own lamps. This experience allows them to test their creativity in a truly brilliant way!

Together, let’s spark imagination, travel through circuits, and light up the future!
