The Introduction to Electronics project allows children to explore the fascinating world of electronics in a fun and hands-on way!

The Basics of Electronic experience, provides an essential foundation in electronics, encouraging students’ creativity by enabling them to design their own circuits.

During the activity, children learn about the essential concepts of electronics, such as the nature of electrons and the assembly of electrical circuits, encouraging them to explore the world around them with an inventive mindset. This reflects the mission of inspiring future inventors and innovators to think outside the box, and apply their knowledge in innovative ways. Students are empowered to explore their own ideas and create new inventions. This is the spirit of being an inventor: grasping the fundamentals so that one can go beyond them and contribute new solutions and technologies to the world.

About Inspiring Inventors

Alessandro Volta

1745-1827

He was an Italian physicist and chemist who was a pioneer in the study of electricity and power, and is credited as the inventor of the electric battery and the discoverer of methane. In 1799, he invented the voltaic batery and reported the results of his experiments in a two-part letter to the president of the Royal Society, which was published in 1800. Through this invention, Volta demonstrated that electricity could be generated chemically, disproving the prevailing theory that electricity was produced solely by living beings. Volta’s invention generated significant scientific excitement and inspired others to conduct similar experiments, ultimately leading to the development of the field of electrochemistry. Volta held the chair of experimental physics at the University of Pavia for nearly 40 years and was highly admired by his students.

Eletrons

Eletrons: This project is an opportunity for children to learn basic concepts about electrons, understanding that we all have electrons – they are part of the atoms that are the particles that make up all matter, including the air around us and even you.

Electric circuit and electrical conductors

Electric circuits: In this experience, the children will learn that by passing through an LED, the electrons generate light energy, or when passing through a buzzer they generate sound energy; or when passing through a motor they generate mechanical energy
Electrical Conductors: Children will understand that electrical conductors, such as copper wires, allow electrons to flow easily in circuits.

Why This Project?

The Basics of Eletronic project was created with three main objectives:

Understanding the importance of concepts: In this project, students have the opportunity to understand how electrical circuits work by identifying and assembling simple circuits, learning about circuit components, and exploring the movement of electrons within this system
The importance of electronics: Awaken children to understand the importance of electrical circuits in many of the simple things that surround them in their daily lives.
Encouraging Creativity and an Inventive Spirit: By taking part in this process, children develop skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and motor coordination. Building their own electrical circuit, in the end, make this experience even more special.

At the end of the session the young inventor will also gain a new appreciation for the world of electronics, while celebrating their success creating an electric circuit.
